Why it matters: most open weather projects stop at one network. UOGW keeps government, research, marine, satellite, citizen science, and MSDS flight data under one catalog — and the automations keep updating on GitHub even if this site is offline.

Flight & Ground Data Archives

Public datasets appear here and in the msds-data repository after each mission. Vertical profiles, raw telemetry, processed atmospheric products, recovery logs, and supporting operational records will be indexed once the X2Griffon maiden flight is recovered and processed.

X2Griffon Flight Data

High-altitude atmospheric profiles, telemetry, and tracks from MSDS near-space missions. Maiden launch: September 19, 2026 · Casey, IL.

Local Ground Weather (Casey, IL)

Compiled daily by Midwest Stratospheric Data Systems and published in github.com/Midwest-Stratospheric/msds-data under ground-weather/daily/. Meteorological values provided by Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), driven primarily by NOAA GFS / HRRR and regional models.

International Ground Data Repository (IGDR)

Daily indexes and curated snapshots maintained at github.com/Midwest-Stratospheric/International-Ground-Data-Repository. Primary source: NOAA Integrated Global Radiosonde Archive (IGRA). Always cite the original data provider.

Machine-Readable Access

Daily ground files are available as stable JSON at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Midwest-Stratospheric/msds-data/main/ground-weather/daily/YYYY-MM-DD.json. A formal MSDS Open Data API is available at /data/v1/catalog.json (see the API docs). For data access questions contact launchcontrol@midwestsds.com.

Full bulk radiosonde observations remain at NOAA NCEI. Midwest Stratospheric Data Systems curates open, versioned access points and local flight-context observations only. No ownership of original NOAA observations is claimed. All atmospheric data released for public scientific and educational use with attribution.
